Orbit ACS

Interface with PLC, PC or Readout

At the end of the module stack, you connect interface modules, which are available in a variety of options including USB, RS232, and Ethernet. Each one connects to up to 150 modules! Using USB, you can get dynamic speeds of up to 4000 reads per second per module.

Through the module interface, then you can export the module reading to the PLC or network computer for PC.

Solar Tron includes a free software driver which provides sample programming and coding to communicate with the probe through SPC, Microsoft® Excel or other data tracking software. The driver supports Windows® 7, 64-bit and XP.

Solar Tron also offers a variety of Digital Readouts including 1, 2, 16 and 31 channels. A Solar Tron Power Supply interface module is required for the Orbit® 3 network stack and will power up to 31 modules with together. Available in both DC and AC inputs.

Automation and control systems

Solar Tron Metrology, a global leader in linear measurement, introduces Orbit® ACS, which stands for Automation and Control Systems.

The first product is the SI100, a simple one-channel stand-alone unit for quick measurement and PLC output. The SI200 comes with a built-in screen probe and PLC output, but can also connect to an Orbit® 3 digital probe. One via T-con for two-channel systems, the SI400 connects and powers three additional sensors for four-channel readings. All modules will have the same accuracy, repeatability and durability as standard Orbit® 3 probes.

Orbit ACS application

Available for both end-users and OEMs, this new automated unit will verify key dimensions to support quality control in electronics, semiconductor, automotive and other manufacturing applications.

Users can quickly set digital probe and process limits on the built-in keypad and screen. No programming required. Output to the PLC can be achieved by various protocols including Modbus via RS232 or RS485 or RS232 output. Three line discrete digital outputs and four line discrete digital inputs are available.

Orbit® ACS is ideal for automated measurement in high-volume production.
The Orbit® ACS system has both a display and PLC output, allowing it to be used as an automated measuring tool.
