Snap Gauge It is a measuring instrument used to check the external dimensions of the workpiece in a quick and accurate manner. Snap gauges are often used to measure the diameter of workpieces such as shafts or metal bars, especially in mass production where quick, time-saving measurements are required.
Types
– Fixed : It has a fixed size and is used for inspecting workpieces of specific sizes. There are two main parts: measuring jaws and frame.
– Adjustable : Adjustable size and used for inspecting workpieces of various sizes. There is a measuring section that can be adjusted to suit the size of various workpieces.
– Go/No-Go : consists of two parts, the Go side and the No-Go side.
Go side: Used to check that the workpiece is an acceptable size.
No-Go side: Used to check that the workpiece does not exceed acceptable dimensions.
